Summer Job at ScoutDI
Summer Job at ScoutDI
Are you a student in electronics, cybernetics, mechanical engineering, or something
similar? Do you love building things? Maybe you've spent more time on hobby projects,
scripting, 3D printing, IoT gadgets, and microcontrollers than on anything else? Then
we’d love to hear from you!
This summer, we want to bring in some creative students that enjoy making work
smarter, not harder. Together you will get to develop, build, integrate, and get hands on
your time with drone technology.
Who is ScoutDI?
ScoutDI develops autonomous drones for indoor inspection in tight and hazardous
environments. At our office in Trondheim, you’ll get to combine electronics, mechanics,
and software to help us make industrial inspection safer and more efficient.
Typical tasks might include
• Building test jigs and tools
• Developing small electronics projects (e.g. sensors, communication modules,
motor control)
• Prototyping and 3D printing
• Writing automated test software
• Debugging and testing products
• Providing practical support to our development team
We think you might be a good fit if you
• Study electronics, cybernetics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or
something similar
• Have built your own projects before — whether that's RGB lighting, robots,
sensor networks, drone builds, or 3D-printed gadgets doesn’t really matter
• You are familiar with networking, Linux environments, motion capture
• Enjoy working where hardware and software crosses
• Know your way around a soldering iron, multimeter, and maybe even Fusion 360
• Like finding smart, simple solutions to practical problems
We offer:
• A summer filled with varied, hands-on tasks
• A high degree of freedom and responsibility
• Access to a development environment full of nerds who love building things
• The opportunity to learn a lot — about hardware, software, and drone technology
Duration: By agreement, but typically June–August. Possibility for part-time work
afterwards.
